Stephen Ross Dooley is one of the defining voices of California’s Central Coast. As a kid in Minnesota, he would obsessively ferment anything he could get his hands on. A curious child to be sure. It seems like a lot more effort than raiding my father’s liquor cabinet, but who am I to judge?

That boy went on to attend UC Davis, and harvests in Napa Valley, Edna Valley, Australia and South Africa—always animated with that same inquisitive nature and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

On Friday, April 24 at 6:15 PM, we are delighted to welcome Stephen to Stage Left Steak with ten of his wines for an in-depth tasting, including some very special wines not usually available for sale!

The Reception

We’ll begin with reception from 6:15–6:45 PM.

The Tasting

Then we’ll sit down for a classroom-style tasting, led by Stephen, Mark and yours truly. Together, we’ll explore eight exceptional wines—several of which are rarely seen outside the winery, including a very special 2020 Blanc de Noir Sparkling.

Feel free to join us afterward at Stage Left Steak or Catherine Lombardi, where many of these wines will be featured by the glass and Stephen will be available in the dining room—giving you the rare chance to revisit your favorites alongside a proper meal.
